Taiwan will hold presidential elections in less than a month. Taiwan is roughly the size of Switzerland and has a population of 24 million, yet produces over 60% of the world’s semiconductors and over 90% of the most advanced ones. That gives Western investors an important stake in the outcome of the vote.
