How to Delete Internet History Online
Your internet history reveals what sites you've visited, what you searched for, and when. To protect your privacy, it’s important to clear this data regularly — not just from your browser, but also from your online accounts.
1. Google Account History
Visit myactivity.google.com, sign in, and you’ll see your search and browsing history across all devices. You can delete activity by date or keyword, or set up auto-delete for 3, 18, or 36 months.
2. Browser History (Chrome)
Open Chrome → Click the three-dot menu → History → “Clear browsing data.” Choose the time range and data type (browsing history, cookies, cached files). For automatic cleanup, enable “Clear cookies and site data when you close all windows” in settings.
3. Use Private Browsing
Use Incognito Mode in Chrome or Private Window in Firefox to prevent browsers from saving history during your session. Remember: this doesn’t hide your activity from websites, ISPs, or employers.
4. Extensions for Auto-Delete
You can use Chrome extensions like History AutoDelete to automatically remove browsing data at intervals.
Pro Tip: Always clear history from both browser and your Google account for full privacy.
