The Young Beasts – The Future Contenders

At the outskirts of the Round Table, where shadows of the great beasts stretched long and deep, the Young Beasts gathered. They were smaller, quicker, hungrier than the ancient lions, soaring eagles, coiled dragons, or patient elephants. They carried no crowns, no legacy, no entrenched power — yet in their hearts burned ambition, curiosity, and the hunger to claim their place in the valley.

The Young Beasts were a motley assembly. Some were offspring of Lions, sharp-eyed and proud; some were fledgling Eagles, talons still learning the skies; some were cunning Wolves and clever Hyenas; even a few tiny Dragons stirred, scales still soft, fire faint.

They watched, listened, and waited — understanding that the table was not theirs yet, but it would be someday.

At the Round Table, the elders sneered. The Lions roared: “You are not ready! You lack strength, patience, and wisdom. Go back to the hills!”

But the Young Beasts only stared. They had learned from observation. From the Lions, they learned pride and the danger of overconfidence. From the Eagles, they learned vigilance and strategic vision.

From the Dragons, patience and the art of long-term influence. From the Bears, endurance. From the Wolves, unity and cunning. From the Jackals and Hyenas, the value of subtle manipulation. From the Serpents, deception and the power of perception. From the Elephants, memory, restraint, and authority without noise.

A young Lion cub stepped forward, mane just beginning to grow. “We may be small, but we watch. We learn. The valley shifts beneath our paws, and soon, we will stride where you hesitate.”

A fledgling Eagle spread its wings. “We may not yet soar as high, but our eyes pierce the distance, and we know the currents that carry power.”

The Wolves nuzzled each other in silent agreement. “We understand the strength of the pack. We know the value of patience and timing. We will not be underestimated.”

Even the Dragons’ gaze softened slightly. Patience, they realized, was not just for the old. The fire of the young, properly guided, could reshape mountains and rivers alike.

The Jackals and Hyenas twitched in amusement. “So many mouths, so much noise. Do they think they can sway the table already?”

The Serpents hissed softly. “Noise is merely the first step. Ambition can grow in silence, and when it strikes, it blinds even the oldest eyes.”

And the Elephants? They watched quietly, deep eyes reflecting generations. They recognized the same spark they had carried in youth — the curiosity, the hunger, the patience yet to be honed.

The Young Beasts encircled the Round Table, neither roaring, flapping, coiling, nor striking. They moved in silent anticipation, their hearts synchronized with the rhythm of the valley. Every claw, paw, wing, and scale learned from observation. Every whisper, glance, and shadow taught them a lesson.

And in that moment, a truth became clear to all gathered: the Round Table was not eternal. The ancient crowns, wings, fire, fangs, and wisdom were formidable, but one day, the younger beasts would inherit them. They would rise, not by brute force alone, but by learning from the past, adapting to the present, and daring to seize the future.

The valley trembled softly, sensing a shift. Power, legacy, patience, cunning, deception, and endurance all converged in these young hearts. And while the elders still held the table, the youngest eyes sparkled with a promise: the Round Table would never remain the same again.

For every roar, every wingbeat, every claw, and every silent step had a successor. The future had already begun to gather at the edges, hungry, curious, and unafraid.

And in the quiet shadows, the Young Beasts waited — the next contenders, the inheritors of history, the storm yet to be unleashed upon the Round Table.
